A group of people, including several from WA universities, government departments, teachers and representatives from professional associations, met to discuss the National Curriculum. Several others including principals, systems personnel, consultants and teachers offered their apologies. While feedback was requested by the National Curriculum Board in relation to specific learning area framing papers, this group felt that the questions missed some of the critical elements about the National Curriculum for teachers. View Article  Review of the Western Australian College of Teaching Act (2004)
A group of teachers and principals met to discuss the Review of the WACOT Act 2004. Several others including principals, systems personnel, consultants and teachers offered their apologies but provided input or comment. Discussion began around the reasons for a College of Teaching, particularly noting that all of the teachers involved in this discussion were outstanding practitioners with many years of experience, not only in schools but in other capacities in education e.g. the Curriculum Council, Catholic Education, district and central office of DET.   more »
